Dick was the oldest of three boys raised by a single parent and he outlived them all at 92. He was a husband, father, grandfather, US Air Force veteran of the Korean War, and a person who spent much of his life serving others. He was a member of the American Legion for 65 years and served as commander of his local post as well as commander of a Unit of Korean War veterans that is now defunct.
